Identity-Linked Ticketing and Age Verification at MotoGP Bharat 25% Fraud Reduction, 75% Faster Check-ins, Full LDA Compliance for 58,605 Fans

Premier Motorsport Event came to Hypersign facing a real compliance challenge: the event faced two interconnected challenges. The ticketing layer had no identity verification only the purchaser's details were captured, leaving co-attendees unidentified. This enabled aftermarket scalping, multiple people using a single ticket across different gates, and zero traceability of attendees inside the venue. Simultaneously, serving liquor at a 58,605+ attendee event under India's Legal Drinking Age (LDA) regulations required strict, auditable verification at every sale point. Traditional manual checks meant staff retaining Aadhaar card images creating significant exposure under India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act 2023, which can fine businesses up to INR 250 crore for data mismanagement. Manual verification was unscalable: long queues built up, inconsistent checks let violations through, high operational costs were incurred on temporary staff, and there was no audit trail. Beyond logistics, many attendees were hesitant to share Aadhaar at a hospitality venue.

The Approach

Hypersign deployed a two-stage identity pipeline in partnership with AtomX Corporation Private Limited. For ticketing: attendees downloaded the event app, uploaded a government-issued ID verified by AI within seconds, and completed a liveness check matching their selfie to the ID photo creating a verified digital credential tied to their ticket. At the venue gate, facial recognition cleared attendees in real time without QR codes or paper IDs, functioning offline when necessary. For the liquor booths: Hypersign deployed Cavach, a Zero-Knowledge Proof engine built on Aadhaar. Rather than storing identity documents, Cavach generates a ZK proof of the verified age claim and shares only that proof with the booth. Pre-registered attendees carried a verified credential bundle proof of age plus proof of ticket and cleared booths in under 10 seconds with no Aadhaar entry required on the day. For walk-in attendees, a guided consent flow with clear screens explaining exactly what data was used walked users through verification on the spot. Trained ground support professionals were stationed at every booth to resolve hesitation from Aadhaar-skeptical users, turning potential drop-off into completed verifications.
